Officer Lontrato comes to the Black Butte Police Department as a lateral officer from South Carolina, where he worked for three years in law enforcement. After leaving his home state of New York in 2010, Joey attended Saint Leo University as a student athlete, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice while competing in NCAA DII men's soccer. Following college, Joey signed a semi-professional contract with the SC Bantams of the USL2 in South Carolina where he played for a few seasons. After his soccer career, Joey pursued his passion for law enforcement and became a police officer in 2019. In 2022 Joey relocated to Bend with his wife, Shelli, and their 4-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer named Millie. In his off time, Joey coaches youth soccer and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
